TOMB OF CHRIST: ABOUT THE REPLICA OF THE TOMB OF CHRIST
The Replica of the Resurrection Tomb of Jesus Christ located in the Family Word Centre, Lekki, Lagos, Nigeria, was built by a Lebanese architect versed in the historical and cultural context of the Biblical period in the Middle East. While everyone may not have the opportunity to visit the actual tomb of Christ in Jerusalem, the Centre offers an opportunity for Africans to have a similar experience. We believe the experience of witnessing, entering and feeling the empty tomb and heavy stone door rolled away, will not only make the Bible come alive to you, but also restore the true message behind the festive Easter Celebration. In this way, we keep the message of Easter relevant and poignant in the hearts of children, youths, and adults for generations. In addition to the Tomb, the Centre offers Biblical experiences such as a replica of the Last Super and the Ark of the Covenant, a Biblical Museum, and several Christian-based theatrical performances.
